The weeks campaign of games started bright and early & in earnest with a 3 game ayele defeat of lawhkx by lewykapy. dsk continued his reign of the ranking table, extending his lead to 2238 points. There was a notable absence from the contenders serikaktayev and er17 in second and third place respectively. With a late surge masterfisz stormed back into the top five, with leprophete remaining in fourth position after his victory in the practice tournament on Saturday. The bar for qualifying for the top 50 players continues its upward trend of being raised. In the week jus gone the 5oth positioned player 6keri6 had 1525, as opposed to harrsion01’s 1509 from the previous week.
Highlight of the week was the 5-game match between wkc1342 and motembapembe. In what seemed would be a walk over for wkc1342 turned out to be an almost even match, resulting in a 3 -2 victory to wkc1342 to observer’s surprise. motembapembe continued rising up the ranks by winning games from higher ranked players: leprophete and zingman.
Marathon matches of the week: harisson01 vs ddi played an 18-game match resulting in 12 – 6 loss for ddi. smp4264g & zingman played a 13-game match resulting in a 7 - 2 draws - 4 defeat for zingman. masterfisz engaged kamilrybnik in a 12-game match resulting in 7 – draw – 4 win for masterfisz. winin vs zulinaa played an 18-game match resulting in a 14 – draw - 3 win for winin
Risers: Top riser of the week goes to motembapembe who rose a whooping 50 positions to 23rd with 1675 points. masterfisz and wkc1342 each rose 9 positions to 5th and 6th place respectively. lawhkx was another player who significantly rose 26 places to occupy the 22nd spot. harrison 01 rose 10 places to 40th position. gouglouf rose 14 positions to make it into the top 50.
Fallers: A notable faller was kamilrybnik, who fell 15 positions top 20th place from 5th the previous week. winin was another notable faller, falling 16 positions to 32nd place. furtif1 was another casualty dropping 26 places out of the top 50. radka183 fell 24 places to crash out of the top 50. Another player that fell out of the top 50 was legagnat.
Newcomers: last week there weren’t any newcomers who gained a reputation for themselves by upsetting the order of things. However, one player who showed some promise was zulinaa, who managed to win some games from winin a top 50 player in their 18-game match.
Practice Tournament: Saturdays tournament, the 19th edition was notable for the ranks of the players, the majority being yellow band players. Its was also notable in that every player lost at least one game, probably a first in these tournaments. Notable performances were ddi’s draw with leprophete and monkftw’s victory over leprophete.
